DUKE, JR, FRED HAISE, EDGAR MITCHELL, RUSTY SCHWEICKART, TOM STAFFORD, and AL WORDEN. An excellent reference manual created for distribution to the print, radio and television media to provide an understanding of Grumman's role with NASA in building and operating the Lunar Module (LM). The 14 tabbed section dividers include information on both Apollo spacecraft – the LM and Command/Service Module, with an illustrated mission description. Additional topics address crew personal equipment, environmental control, spacecraft controls and displays, the flight computer plus other guidance, control, and navigation components. The ability to softly land then leave the lunar surface is explained in the main propulsion and reaction control sections. Other systems covered are electrical power, communications, instrumentations, spacecraft lighting, and a detailed glossary. Each section contains multiple diagrams and/or half-tone illustrations. The entire LM control panel is illustrated on an 11 by 25 inch fold-out sheet identifying the over 100 switches, knobs, dials, and other instrumentation.
