Condition
The canvas is lined. There is a faint, fine pattern of craquelure to the oxen, which is stable. The surface is slightly dirty and should benefit from cleaning. Ultraviolet light reveals an opaque varnish. There are scattered areas of retouching to the background and foreground. Some small spots of retouchings to the left ox and slightly more retouching to the right ox. Held in a gilt plaster frame.
