Not relined. Canvas slightly wavy. Minor abrasions on the margins. No retouching visible under UV-light. Excellent condition.

Catalogue Note
Über die vordergründigen tiefverschneiten Hänge ziehen sich vereinzelte Skispuren. Im Bildhintergrund erhebt sich imposant der Piz La Margna. Die eindrücklich in Szene gesetzte weisse Arena bei Salastrains oberhalb von St. Moritz ist ein eindrücklicher Beweis für die malerische Meisterschaft des Koloristen Giovanni Giacometti. Giacometti erzeugt in diesem Bild ein grandioses, fein abgestimmtes Licht- und Farberlebnis. Giacometti offers a grandiose experience of his mastery of colour and light in this landscape depicting the deep snow-covered slopes of Salastrains above St.Moritz with the Piz Margna in the background.
