each painted in inky tones of blue with a medallion enclosing two confronting phoenix amidst cloud wisps, the underside similarly decorated, the base with a six-character reign mark (2)

Provenance

Acquired in Hong Kong, 1980s.

Condition

The pair is in overall good condition. One dish has a small chip to the foot and a short firing tear to the inner foot and the rim with scattered tiny burst glaze bubbles. The other is in good condition. Both dishes with wear and minor imperfections consistent with age and use.
