Description
- approximately 346 by 99cm; 11ft. 4in., 3ft. 3in.
- mid 19th century
Condition
Overall measurements: 95cm across the top, 99cm across the bottom, 337cm the left hand side, 346cm the right hand side. Pile varies from approximately 3-4mm down to knotbars. Areas of wear are concentrated in the centre of top medium blue medallion and the palmettes of the three ensuing medallions and in the left hand border adjacent to those medallions. Some minor areas of localised wear with knotbars just appearing in the lower white medallion. Outstanding wool quality and colour. Including exceptional range of blues and greens, very good aubergine and several shades of rose/pink and madder. Some losses to and repairs to sidecords. Ends with trimmed warp fringes and overlocking. Repaired split in the lowermost pink medallion, approximately 18cm long (just visible as a line of reknotting on face of carpet), and another between this medallion and the green above, approx 56cm long (possibly tuck as the runner is bowed at this point, not visible on the face). An old repair 9 by 3cm in right hand border, visible in illustration. Some very very minor scattered repairs found in the field. These repairs do not detract from the overall attractiveness of this runner.

Catalogue Note
This runner has a beautiful array of light pastel colours and the inclusion of the 'Fachralo' prayer niche is an unusual addition.
