Description

Grand Cross breast star by Lemaitre, Paris, circa 1880, in finely-pierced silver, with applied centre in gold and enamels, backplate with maker’s plate including address 42 Rue Coquillière, height and width both 85.5mm, white enamel repaired at lower lis and with minor chip to blue enamel of legend, good very fine.

Condition

Maker's mark for Lemaitre, Paris. White enamel repaired at lower lis and with chip to blue enamel of legend. Scratches consistent with age and some evidence of tarnish. Gross weight approximately 51 grams.
