Folio oblungo (252x390 mm.), 43 tavole incise numerate comprensive del frontespizio calcografico, sul verso della carta di guardia anteriore è attaccata una tavola con ritratto di Raffaello con nota manoscritta sottostante, tavole firmate, ampi margini, legatura in tela verde ottocentesca con cornice e ornamenti oro alle estremità, placca centrale a secco, dorso in pelle verde con impressioni oro, tagli oro, lievi fioriture sulle carte iniziali, alcune macchie di umidità ai margini inferiori (in particolare tavv. 8, 11)

Sulla carta di guardia anteriore, sotto il ritratto di Raffaello, nota manoscritta in inglese con una breve descrizione del volume ("Ornaments from the ceilings of the Vatican..."), datata 27 maggio 1846 sull’angolo superiore sinistro

Catalogue Note
La raccolta delle tavole incise da Pietro Santi Bartoli riproducono le scene dipinte, affrescate e modellate in stucco inventate da Raffaello e realizzate dai suoi collaboratori durante la metà del Cinquecento sui soffitti delle logge Vaticane. Tra questi si nota in particolare, ed è citato nel frontespizio, Giovanni Nanni da Udine. Nella prima e nell’ultima tavola sono rappresentati i collaboratori di Raffaello intenti al lavoro. L’esemplare presenta un ritratto di Raffaello, stampato e attaccato sulla carta di guardia anteriore.
