Condition

The copper plate is stable, the paint surface is clean and the varnish is clear and even. There is evidence of rubbing with associated visible retouching along the upper edge. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals a fluorescent varnish underneath which it is difficult to discern much, but the work appears to be in overall very good condition. Offered in a carved and gilt wood frame with egg and dart decoration in good fair, with a loss along most of the lower edge of the interior border.
