Condition

The bevelled panel is flat and stable. The paint surface is quite dirty, and the pigments have thinned with age. Small, horizontal fine lines of discoloured retouchings are visible throughout, mostly along the panel grain, and most notably in the sky. Inspection under ultraviolet light confirms these, but reveals little other intervention. Offered in a carved and gilt wood frame in very good condition.
