There is rubbing to the surface at the high points. There are a few traces of polychromy. There are a few minor chips, including to the top right corner at the back. There is an area of veining to the reverse. The modern wood stand is in very good condition. Pieta: There is minor stable splitting throughout, consistent with the material. The composition is carved on the reverse, therefore not forming a relief, as stated in the catalogue. There is wear and dirt, including fraying, to the velvet of the mount.
