Condition
The painting is lined. The painting presents a handsome image, though some of the darker hues have sunken with time. The details on the elaborate costume the sitter wears have been beautifully kept, like the luminous pearl earrings and ornate medallion. Scattered losses are on the extreme edges, and also one pin-dot of loss on the white shirt at bottom left, but these are not distracting. What appears to be an old repair of about an inch is on the background to the right of the sitter's head. Inspection under UV is difficult to read due to an old varnish; there might be some old retouches scattered spots underneath like on the lower right quadrant. The painting is in overall good condition, though it may favor from a light clean and re-varnish. Offered unframed.
