WILLIAM ETTY, R.A. | A study of a standing female nude

Estimate
6,000 - 8,000 USD
bidding is closed

Description

  • Circle of William Etty, R.A.
  • A study of a standing female nude
oil on board, unframed

Condition

The paint is on millboard and stable. An elegant image reads well, though some of the paint has thinned as is usual for studies. Very minor tiny dots of loss are scattered and not all distracting. Some concentrated areas of strengthening to the paint are visible to the naked eye like on the body of the nude and on the object that rests on the floor behind the sitter. These retouches also fluoresce under the inspection of UV light, along with some further scattered spots here and there like on the red back drop. Offered unframed.
