Condition

The canvas is lined. The canvas presents an elegant sitter with the details well preserved on the whites, though the darks have sunken a little. There is craquelure throughout with some associated pindots of loss, such as right above her lip at left, and a thin line on the background at center left. There are what appears to be three scratches running vertically on the background at right of the sitter's head, meanwhile a smaller one runs horizontally at left, bottom center. An adhesive tape is visible at extreme edges and extends for half a cm. Inspection under UV is difficult to read due to an old varnish. Painting is offered in a gilded wood frame, with some losses on the bottom right corner. Offered in a giltwood frame with some loss.
