Catalogue Note
This very interesting sheet bears on the recto several studies for an unidentified equestrian monument, surmounting several options for an elaborate fountain base. Some of the fantastic elements adorning the bases, with a highly decorative vocabulary, are reminiscent of Pietro Tacca's inventiveness. There are two ground plans indicating the different shapes for the monument, which incorporates some sort of armorial shields, and reliefs.
