Condition

In general there is scattered flaking to the brown enamel at the rims and some surface wear to enamels as a result of stacking. We would advise to inspect the service whilst displayed in the galleries. One tureen cover a match, the modelled finials of both covers with old repair and chipping. Of the plates: 1 plate of a different moulded border, 4 plates with a rim chip, 2 with two rim chips, one of which has dark kiln speckling to underside of rim. 1 plate with a hairline crack to body, 1 plate broken into several pieces and glued. Several of the plates have a form of chip to the footrim which are not visible from the exterior. 1 soup plate with a rim chip. The circular dishes, 1 with a misfired glaze to the interior of the footrim on the underside Of the oval dishes: the largest oval dishes with some glaze-misfiring to the underside, a smaller dish with an extended firing crack at the rim, 1 with a rim chip and three with a footrim chip, There are pieces of the service which have warped in the firing process and there are some slight differences in the colour of the porcelain, but in general the service is in good appearance.
