Condition
The panel is formed of a single plank, and is flat and stable. The paint surface is relatively clean and the varnish is clear and even. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals some fine lines of retouching to reduce the appearance of craquelure in the sky, as well as small areas of retouching scattered along all four margins, in the cloud centre and centre right, and to the right of the ship furthest right. In overall good condition.
