Condition

Canvas is lined. Surface indent and resulting paint loss near centre of top edge and an further small spot of paint loss to sail of smaller ship right of the ship ablaze. Faint craquelure pattern across surface. Ultraviolet light reveals scattered fleck of retouching mainly through the sky. Held in a gilt plaster frame.
