Condition
The canvas appears original. There is a a pattern of fine lines of cracking throughout the work, with some possible associated lifting. At least two of the radiating patterns of cracking appear to be associated with historic dents. There is a probable discoloured varnish and surface dirt to the work, and one or two instances of detritus. A reading under ultra violet light is made difficult by the thick varnish, but there appears to be no sign of fluorescence. The work is held within a canvas slip and a gilt frame.
