Condition
The canvas is original. There are some losses to the eges of the work, most noticeable at the centre of the left edge, with further small instances in each of the corners. There is some bloom to the surface in places. There is a crack and some lifting of the paint in the upper left quadrant. There is some fine cracking at each edge. There is an uneven varnish. There is some slight rubbing to the raised areas of impasto. There is surface dirt and studio matter throughout. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals no obvious signs of retouching, however a milky discoloured varnish in the upper half of the work makes further inspection difficult to read. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work. The work is unframed.
