The canvas has been fully laid down on to the board. There is a small, light scuff apparent to the bottom bar of the left hand window. There are some minor accretions, and some minor studio matter apparent. There is some light surface dirt and matter. Subject to the above the work appears to be in overall very good condition. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals a small number of localised areas of retouching, focused on the top of the telegraph poles and along the wires towards the left window, in the masonry at the top of the left window, in the window sill of the central window and in the pavement below the left window. There are also some very light instances of fluorescence across the canvas, most probably the result of light water staining and studio detritus. The work is framed in a simple wooden frame.
