Catalogue Note

"Movements interpenetrating - entering and receding in space - resulted in the emergence of a radiating image of a butterfly. In spite of working in linear structures with burins and gouges and biting in acid, the plate developed a total relief, and opened up new dimensions. The plate is no more just a surface to draw upon and print from, which is a normal traditional approach. Now I could feel the various levels and depths of the metal as a sculpture. This way of building and printing the plate needed a totally different approach to printmaking." (K. Reddy, Exhibition catalogue, Krishna Reddy: A Retrospective, Bronx Museum of the Arts, New York, 1981, p. 67)
