Condition

A recent relining is firm and stable. While the overall painting reads well, the surface has been somewhat pressed in the relining and there is thinness in the dark background. However, detail in the flowers has been generally well preserved and the painting presents a very decorative image. Some retouching all around the extreme edges is slightly visible to naked eye, but not overly distracting. Under UV light: retouching as mentioned around edges, also over most of the ledge at bottom. Others are scattered in background, on the vase, and in the darks of foliage. Only a few small retouches here and there on flowers. This painting is presentable and an be hung as is. Offered in a painted black and parcel gilt frame with ornately carved corners.
