Description
- Lacloche Frères
- emerald, onyx, ruby, diamond, platinum
Designed as a band centered on a pearl measuring approximately 9.8 x 9.6 mm, depicting two snakes set with buff-top emeralds and rubies, pavé-set with old European and single-cut diamonds, and applied with black enamel, length 7¼ inches, with French assay marks; circa 1927. With fitted box.
Condition
In good condition. The clasp requires some manipulation to close (one pin sticks and has to be pulled out manually), fitted with safety closures for added security. Mounting with light signs of wear. French assay marks for platinum. The pearl is of rose body color, near-round, with good luster, aubergine overtones, and some blemishes including peeling near the base. The diamonds, estimated to weigh a total of approximately 14.50 carats, are approximately G-H color, predominantly VS-SI clarity. The emeralds are very medium slightly bluish green, slightly included, with some surface reaching inclusions and a few chips visible under 10x magnification. The rubies are medium strongly purplish red, slightly included. The black enamel with some shallow chips and abrasions visible under 10x magnification. The sides of the bands are engraved with a lovely scrolling pattern. Fitted case is unsigned and appears to be antique. Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from Lacloche Fres, directed by Mark Kaufman. Please note that the certificate misstates the enamel as onyx. Please note that the pearl has not been tested for natural origin.
