Description

Set throughout with oval rubies, and brilliant-cut diamonds, signed Van Cleef & Arpels, numbered.

Condition

Accompanied by SSEF report no. 103299, stating that the thirteen rubies weighing 2.28, 2.21, 2.21, 1.97, 1.82, 1.79, 1.78, 1.77, 1.59, 1.53 and 1.20 carats are of Burmese origin with no indications of heating, the three rubies weighing 2.21, 1.97 and 1.77 carats are Pigeon Blood colour and two rubies with a minor amount of oil in fissures weighing 1.63 and 1.21 carats; together with Gübelin report no. 9002040-1, dated 12 March 1990, stating that the thirteen rubies are of Burmese origin. Signed V.C.A., numbered NY34548, brooch fitting stamped 585 for 14 carat gold. Rubies well matched in colour, red of medium strong saturation, with typical inclusions, some surface reaching, some stones with cavities, chips and abrasions to facet edges. Diamonds estimated to weigh approximately 12.00 - 15.00 carats, on average H-I colour, VS clarity, as gauged and graded within the limitations of the mount. Minor evidence of wear to the metal. In very good condition. Gross weight approximately 38 grams.
