Designed as a line of oval and cushion-shaped rubies alternating with marquise-shaped diamonds, length approximately 190mm, French assay mark.

Condition

Accompanied by SSEF report no. 99330, stating that the fourteen oval to cushion-shaped rubies stated to weigh a total of 47.77 carats, calculated to weigh from approximately 1.5 to approximately 6.1 carats, measuring from approximately 8.70 x 7.30 x 2.70mm to approximately 11.35 x 9.25 x 5.60mm, are of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating, with none to a moderate amount of oil in fissures. Please also note that Sotheby's is not responsible for the accuracy of any estimated weights provided by gemmological certificates. French assay marks and stamped OR 750 for 18 carat gold. Inscribed R 47.07, referring to the stated total carat weight of the rubies, and N 14.49, referring to the stated total carat weight of the diamonds. Rubies well matched in colour, red of medium strong saturation, with typical surface-reaching inclusions, small scratches, abrasions, nicks and cavities. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 13.00 - 15.00 carats, on average H-I colour, VS-SI clarity, as gauged and graded in the mount. Minor signs of wear to the metal. Clasp secure, safety catch. In very good condition. Gross weight approximately 33 grams.
