Condition

The canvas is original. There is a pattern of extremely fine craquelure throughout the black pigment in keeping with the Artist's materials and working methods, most noticeable towards the lower left corner. This is only visible upon extremely close inspection. There is a further isolated instance of craquelure in the white pigment towards the upper edge in the centre. There is a very faint scuff mark to the upper left corner. There is a small amount of surface dirt throughout. Subject to the above the work appears to be in very good overall condition. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals no obvious signs of fluorescence of retouching. The work is floated within a stained wooden frame. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any further questions regarding the present work.
