Condition

The sheet has been fully laid down onto board, with some very minor associated creases. There are Artist's pinholes to all four corners. The adhesive used to affix the sheet to the backing board is very slightly visible towards the extreme edges in places. There is some very minor abrasion to the lower left corner. There is a 12 by 2cm. section in the upper left quadrant that appears to be a historic removal and reattachment of part of the sheet, in keeping with the Artist's working methods, and this area is secure. There are two very faint horizontal lines running the length of the board just above and below centre, most likely a slight imperfection to the backing board. There is a very faint vertical scratch to the left of the lower edge, with a further faint scratch just to the left of the centre of the upper edge. There are a number of air bubbles in places along with handling marks including fingers prints to the edges, in keeping with the Artist's working methods. There is studio detritus in places and some light surface dust. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals no obvious signs of fluorescence or retouching. The work is mounted but not adhered to the mount. Unframed. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
