Description
- Bryan Ingham
- The Fields in the Spring
- oil and pencil on board
- 16.5 by 26.5cm.; 6½ by 10½in.
Provenance
The Estate of the Artist
Condition
There are a number of fine cracks that run horizontally across the width of the board but these appear stable and in keeping with nature of the materials. There is one further diagonal crack in the upper left quadrant, which also appears stable. There is one small indentation towards the centre of the lower edge, thought to be in keeping with the Artist's working methods. There are a number of tiny flecks of paint loss towards the extreme edges, largely only visible upon very close inspection. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in very good overall condition. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals no obvious signs of fluorescence or retouching. The work is float mounted in a painted wooden box frame. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
