Condition
The canvas appears original. There are some very fine lines of cracking, possibly historic, to the lower right quadrant in the black and white pigments, towards the centre of the right edge in the black pigment, and below left of centre in the black pigment. There are possible flecks of historic losses to the work, most likely in keeping with the Artist's intentions. There are instances of studio matter, surface detritus and surface dirt throughout. Subject to the above, the work appears in very good overall condition. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals no signs of fluorescence or retouching. The work is held in a painted wooden frame. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
