stoutly potted with wide bulbous body rising to an everted lip, set with applied biscuit lion-mask handles, the exterior painted with two large phoenix birds with heads turned facing each other among large puce flowers and serrated leaves in vivid colors, the interior painted with fish, blossoms and water plants

Condition

Overall good condition with typical fritting around the rim including two areas of rughness and bubbling of enamels. There are some two long horizontal hairlines following the luting line on the interior, not visible and not present on the exterior. There is a ring of scratches to the interior well and considerable amount kiln grit on the interior of base with some flattening and wear to enamels. There is also flaking to the lacquer and gilding of both handles and the ring handles missing.
