Condition
The canvas has a wax lining. There is a faint areas of craquelure to the sitter's face, which appears stable and a minor surface abrasion to the figure's right leg; otherwise the work appears in good overall condition. UV light reveals an opaque varnish. There appears to be cosmetic retouching to the sitter's face, also there appears to be some retouchings to the left side of the round desk and also along the lower edge and right edge. Also possibly a few small areas in the background. Held in a dark red and ebony rippled frame, ready to hang.
