Description

the russet iron sixty-two plate sujibachi kabuto (17th century), with three-tier itazane shikoro [neckguard] lacquered with sabi-age and with sugake odoshi lacing, the bottom rows of hishinui lacquered red, mabisashi [peak] and fukigaeshi [turnbacks] clad with leather, gilt kuwagata-dai pierced and carved with chrysanthemums, maedate of a gilt and red lacquered dragon, iron menpo [facemask] with detachable nose signed Tomomichi (18th - 19th century)

Condition

The midate has some old repairs, chips and wear to the gold. The mempo- the surface of the iron is slightly worn and there is surface rust, the red lacquer of the interior is repaired in certain areas, the shikiro has a few small chips. The helmet bowl has some old wear in particular to the copper gilt. The black lacquer to the underside of the shikiro has a few small areas of restoration. Please note all armours by the nature of their use and age have some old wear overall.
