Condition

Oil on thick cardboard which is not laid down; the cardboard is stable. Inspection under UV light reveals a circular area of fluorescence in the lower area of the composition pertaining to an uneven varnish and no signs of retouching. There are small losses to the paint at all four edges, consistent with frame abrasion. There is craquelure running throughout the sky which is stable. There is a vertical line of slight scuffing to the paint surface with some minor associated pigment loss running 5cm parallel to the left edge, possibly caused by an impact. Overall this work is in fairly good condition.
