Condition

The canvas is not lined. There are scattered pinholes to the upper edge and to the top part of the right and left edges. Examination under UV light reveals some spots of retouching to the background above the figure's head, the largest of which is approx. 2cm long and appears to correspond to a small repaired tear within the canvas surface. There are some further spots of retouching to the green pigment of the woman's dress and to the extreme upper and right edges. There are stretcher bar marks visible, primarily across the upper and lower parts of the composition. The work has some minor stable craquelure and some minor pigment shrinkage visible in places, and there are some tiny flecks of pigment loss to the lower edge. This work is in overall good condition.
