Condition
The canvas is not lined. Inspection under UV reveals an uneven varnish which prevents the light from fully penetrating, however no signs of retouching are apparent. There is some craquelure and minor hairline pigment shrinkage with associated small losses to the pigment of the black background. There are some minor fly spots on the figure’s proper right arm. This work is in overall good condition.
