Condition
The canvas is unlined. There is an area toward the lower left corner where the canvas bulges out, likely due to impact from the reverse. This spot also has a couple of minor associated losses. In the extreme lower left corner, there is a two inch loss to the pigment with associated retouching, which is visible to the naked eye. There is pigment shrinkage in the black pigments of the woman's hair and clothing in the center of the composition. There is one small area of pigment lifting near the top of the right edge. Under UV inspection, some minor strokes of inpainting in the extreme lower left corner. Some strokes of inpainting near the the aforementioned impact spot toward the lower left corner. The work is in good condition.
