Condition
This work is in good condition overall. The colors are rich, and the media layer is stable. The sheet has been lined with Japanese paper for support. The work is faintly light-struck, and the sheet is lightly yellowed overall. Artist pinholes are present in each of the four extreme corners. Four one-inch horizontal repaired tears are present, three at the extreme center left edge and one at the extreme center right edge. A fine, faint vertical crease runs down the center of the sheet, which may be inherent. A one-inch vertical repaired tear is present in the upper center quadrant, to the left of the mother's hand. A few additional minor scattered areas of abrasion are present throughout the sheet, but these do not interfere with the central composition.
