Condition

This work is in very good condition overall, taking its age into account. It has been mounted to a wooden backing board. The colors are vibrant, and the media layer is stable. The board has been laid down to a wooden backing board. The work presents a worn surface overall, which is consistent with the artist's working method and aesthetic intent. Along the extreme lower edge, underneath the feet of the figure, two rectangular areas of dark discoloration measuring 8 and 11 inches in length are present, and may not be inherent to the work. Two pinpoint spots of media loss are present in the upper right quadrant, in the pointer finger of the proper left hand of the figure. Under ultraviolet light examination, spots and lines of fluorescence become apparent throughout which may be inherent to the pigments selected by the artist.
