Catalogue Note

In August 1950, the parents of the present owner accompanied a small group of friends to meet Pablo Picasso. Among the group were famed journalists Dominique de Santi and Jean-Pierre Chabrol - as well as the latter's wife, Noelle Vincensini, a celebrated activist who won the Légion d'Honneur in 2008. At this meeting, the artist offered the present work as a gift to the current owner's parents and it has remained in their family ever since.

The authenticity of this work has been confirmed by Claude Picasso.
