Condition
The canvas is laid down on board, the board is sound. Examination under UV light reveals a small area of vertical retouching measuring 2cm to the left of the sitter's face. The lower right corner is cut, possibly as a result of the laying down process. There are minor areas of paint shrinkage to the black pigment. There is some frame abrasion to the upper and lower edges. Overall this work is in fairly good condition.
