Catalogue Note

The present lot is a well preserved example of a timer used for bombing missions by the Italian Air Forces and retailed out of the famous A. Cairelli stores in Rome. The scale measures distance in hectometers to allow the bombardier to set the rotatable bezel's arrow to the distance to the target for the countdown function. The 30-second chronograph can then be used to accurately to determine when an explosive would hit the intended target.
