Catalogue Note

Reference 116710 has immediately earned its title as the fan’s favourite GMT-Master II after its debut at the 2013 Baselworld. With the strong blue and black colour contrast to cerachrom bezel, this watch was then given the nickname as the “Batman”. The present watch is a reference 116749SABLNR GMT-Master II which houses the same case and movement as the reference 11670, however, instead of have a cerachrom bezel, it has a blue, black sapphire and diamond-set bezel. Although being very similar to the reference 16758 “SARU” that both includes precious stone-set to its case, the present watch has a very impressive but humble persona. To the best of our knowledge, Rolex only made a very small number and this sapphire GMT is destined to be a long term collector’s item.

According to research, this is the first time this watch has ever appeared in auction.
