Catalogue Note

Accompanied by an Ulysse Nardin presentation box. Established in 1846 and named after its original founder, Ulysse Nardin was best known for manufacturing accurate marine chronometers supplied to navies over 50 countries during the 1800s. In 1983, the company was purchased by Rolf W. Schnyder and partnered up with Dr. Ludwig Oechslin to create the most forefront timepieces. Today, Ulysse Nardin continues its tradition to combine science and innovation not only to produce complicated timepieces but also watches with fun and joy by using modern materials and manufacturing techniques.

Launched in 2003, the Genghis Khan is known to be one of the several masterworks of late Rolf W. Schnyder - world's first wristwatch combining a Westminster chime with minute repeater, automatons and tourbillon.

Produced only in 30 pieces. As the name 'Genghis Khan' suggested, the interesting dial is impressive to observe, staging a group of Mongolian warriors, each time the Westminster chimes or the repeater is engaged, the figures while riding on their crafted horse, fight with their curved swords or trying to catch a small ring with a spear, with another appears to be playing a musical instrument. Fascination is to be listening to the four gongs Westminster performing a different tone (Mi-Do-Re-Sol). All four gongs sound in three different sequences for the quarters.
