Condition

The movement is in working condition at the time of cataloguing and has likely been serviced not too long ago. The dial shows visible signs of aging and the subsidiary dials have taken on a consistent and attractive brass patina. The luminescent dots and hands can still be seen but have worn off. The glass has minor surface scratches throughout. The case has visible scratches, small dents and discolourations throughout. There is also a lot of dirt, especially by the chronograph pushers and on the back. The watch would benefit from a cleaning service at the buyer's expense. The back is engraved with numbers and letters that are likely from a service and read "550315 7611 FIS". The bezel surface has partly peeled off, visible especially between 25 and 30 minutes. The luminescent dot on the bezel still works well. Overall the watch is in fair condition with clear signs of use and age. The watch has not been tested to determine the accuracy of its timekeeping. Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement and that a service may be required at the buyer's discretion.
