Catalogue Note

Accompanied by a Bovet certificate of origin, instruction manual, polishing cloth, loupe, setting pin and exclusive presentation case with rotating display stand inside. The Bovet Récital 18 Shooting Star, released in 2016, combines artistic and innovative design with highly complicated watchmaking. At first glance the domed design of the watch becomes apparent. There are seven domes in total, including the four hemispheres of the movement, the dial, the tourbillon carriage and the upper crystal of the watch.

The movement is driven by two barrels generating five days of power reserve and controlled by a tourbillon balance oscillating at 21'600 vibrations per hour. The watch is regulated by a hair spring manufactured in the in-house workshops of Bovet, an art mastered by only a few watch manufacturers worldwide.

An entirely hand-engraved constellation of stars beautifully decorates the back of the movement and even the carriage and small bridges of the tourbillon. Similar to other Bovet timepieces the following maxim is engraved on the back: "Faictes de mains de maistres, pour servir ponctuels gentilshommes, ce pour quoy attestons longue valeur." This statement traces back to the days of Bovet Freres & Co. and translates to "Made by the hands of masters, to serve punctual gentlemen, by which we certify enduring value."
