Condition
The illustration of the catalogue is accurate. Good overall condition. There are the inevitable dents, marks and scratches due to age and use. The gilding is slightly rubbed and tarnished. One base is slightly twisted. Please note that the pair of candlesticks is French and not proabably Russian as stated in the printed catalogue. This pair of candlesticks is similar to the one delivered for the Emperor's bedroom at the pavillon de Butard in La Celle-Saint-Cloud. This pair is now in the Mobilier national, Paris (inv. GML 4927/1 and 2).
