Condition

Overall very good condition. Each bronze base displays a strong russet-red patina with occasional minor scattered surface scratches and abrasions and traces of light surface soiling to the recessed contours of the design, all consistent with age and gentle handling. One base with some minor traces of oxidation to the recessed contours of the design. Each candlestick with period shade fitters and three ball screws; one ball screw has been replaced. One fitter with some minor dents around the circumference, not visually detractive. Each favrile glass shade is in very good condition with scattered minute air bubbles, particulate inclusions, and minor surface irregularities inherent in the making and not visually detractive. The glass surfaces with some occasional light surface scratches and with some concentrated surface scratches around the bottom collar of each shade where they are installed into their bases, not visible when the shades are assembled. The lower aperture of each shade with some expected fleabites around the circumference, consistent with age and gentle handling. One shade with a small area of white discoloration within the cream-colored background, inherent in the making. An elegantly proportioned pair of candlesticks with beautifully decorated and iridized shades.
