Description

  • Length  4 3/4 in., 12.1 cm
the irregular boulder shape carved as a large peach borne on a leafing stem flanked by a further, smaller peach and a 'Buddha hand' citron, the central fruit with a bat in relief to one side and a wan symbol on the reverse, the stone of an opaque beige tone with dark brown and russet-pink highlights

Condition

The carving with consolidation to fissures near the fruit stems and a small section of stem reattached. Areas of the surface with yellowing remnants of a type of shellac. The surface with wear, scattered nicks to extremities - all consistent with age and handling.
