the pear-shaped body rising from a short tapered foot to a tall cylindrical neck and upturned everted rim, the glaze of a soft sea-green color thinning at the lip, the unglazed footrim fired to a light orange, Japanese gold lacquer repair at the rim, wood stand, Japanese wood box (4)

Condition

The rim with a gilt-lacquer repair, as can be seen in the catalogue illustration, and another small infill repair, measuring approx. 0.5 cm wide. There is a short firing crack to the foot ring and another firing crack to the base. Please note that this lot includes a stand, frame or other component made from a type of Chinese hardwood, which, if exported, will require a CITES permit to leave the United States.
