- 11.5 cm, 4 1/2 in.
of circular section, carved to the cover in relief with scholars and attendants in a courtyard below towering pine and wutong trees, detailed with a mountainous river landscape, the box carved with craggy rockwork amongst further trees, all against diaper grounds, the interior and base lacquered black

Condition
The box and cover are in general good condition with the exception of some minor losses to the carvings, such as the tips of shrubs and leaves. There are some re-painting to the lacquer particularly to the inner rim of both the box and cover, and to the base.
